I was born and raised in a small town called Clinton in North Carolina. I have been drawing and painting ever since I could hold on to a crayon. I am a self-taught designer, so there have been a lot of challenges along the way that I had to learn from. One of the benefits to teaching yourself is that you can learn what you want when you want. There
are quite a few disadvantages to being self-taught of course. Being a self-taught designer, there is no one to ask questions to when you come across something that is difficult. I had to research quite a bit to find solutions to the issues I faced when I was trying to create or sew something. This does take up a lot of time, but if you are determined and don’t let little issues stop you, like your bottom hem being crooked or your darts not looking quite right, then self-taught could be a possibility for you as well. I would love to post every piece that I have made up to this point, but not all are picture perfect if you catch my drift.
