Why do I want to participate in the Goodwill Rock the Runway fashion show?
Participating in the Triad Goodwill Rock the Runway fashion show as a volunteer last year inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and try something new! This fashion show is a great platform for exposure and networking opportunities. This competition also challenges me to think outside of the box to redesign used clothing. In addition, it allows me be part of a wonderful fundraiser that supports our community.
What has been the best part of my participation in the fashion fundraiser so far?
For the overall decade theme of the show, I happily selected the 90s. Then, I was nervous about finding colors and prints that represent the 90s, but I have actually enjoyed creating textiles and mixings colors that represents the decade. I even watched a variety of TV shows from the 90s for inspiration such as Fresh Prince, Martin, and The Cosby Show.
What is the most unique piece I purchased from Triad Goodwill for my collection?
The suits I purchased from Goodwill have such vibrant colors, prints, and shape. They definitely reminded me of what professional women wore in the 90s.
