Cleo Faucette – Butterflies

Cleo FaucetteThe last few weeks have been so amazing, creativity is over flowing right now.  I have visited several of the Goodwill locations and have been very lucky to find lots of things to start this journey.  I have also met and spoken with people who have known me in a professional setting, they had no idea that my true passion is designing clothes.   They have had one main question and it’s “how do you think of this stuff?”  So with that in mind, I decided to show one of my sources of inspiration.

I must admit that I can find inspiration from just about anything, many designers just have an eye for creativity.  Some of the areas where I find the must inspiration is nature itself.  I can sit outside in the park or even going to the zoo can send so many creative vibes to my mind.  I find myself staring at different textures on trees, insects, and even rocks;  asking the question “how can I wear that?”

I am very fond of butterflies, and they hold a special meaning in my own journey to adulthood.  As I was sitting in my yard I spotted the most beautiful butterfly and it moved me to create a look inspired by a butterfly.  I searched the internet for a photo and it came to me.  I wanted to capture what the butterfly cycle of life looks in my eyes, Cleo Faucetteinterpreted in clothing.

1. The skirt represents the caterpillar portion of the cycle.

2. The bodice is the pupa

3. Neckline represents the emerging of the butterfly.

Please  see photo for my interpretation.  Please do not be afraid to leave me a comment of how my interpretation turned out, thank you.
