Behind the Scenes with Designer – Carrie Coyle

…and so my collection was created:  An International Bazaar! By Carrie Coyle * Information gathered from Fashion Snoops and Style.com Unlike the way in which many designers develop their collections, by creating a product line around a theme or concept, the concept for my collection was created around the items that I found on my shopping trips to Goodwill.  An organic convergence of ideas, I began my hunt by selecting items that I was magnetized to- the southwestern, African, and South American prints, the subtle beauty of aged ivory lace blinds.  I love how all the patterns play together to [...]

Behind the Scenes with Designer – Caroline Baxley

What an experience this has been so far! I remember a thought that I had on my way to the second photo shoot for the show, early one Saturday morning: “Though it may be super early, I’m driving this morning to do something I’ve always dreamed about.” Then I got kind of emotional. But seriously, it’s very rare that you get a shot to show the world your vision and talent. Like I said, I’ve always wanted to be doing something great with the gift God gave me and hopefully Rock the Runway will be an awesome starting point. Over [...]

Behind the Scenes with Designer – Rachel Wilson

My History: It's no secret that I'm a theatre kid through and through. I was practically raised on the stuff! From Disney animated classics to stage plays and ballet- I love it all. Some of my earliest memories are of being in a dark theatre with my mom watching Molly Brown be unsinkable or guys finding their dolls. At an early age I knew I wanted to be an actress. My first role was Kanga, in my kindergarten play "Winnie the Pooh" and let me tell you- I memorized every line. No, not just mine, I memorized the entire show! [...]

Behind the Scenes with Designer – April Morgan

We had a photo shoot in early December to showcase our first completed outfit.  Big thanks to Pamela with Leon's Style Salon for the awesome hair & make-up look she created for my model!  I’m so pleased with the first outfit!  The skirt was made from a dress I found at Goodwill (of course!).  Because Torey Searcy Photography of the way I cut the pattern pieces, there is a button in one of the skirt pockets that used to be on the dress sleeve.  I love these unexpected surprises, which result in truly unique pieces.  I also used a [...]
