No Sew Snow Socks!

Chloe BacotHave you ever had one of those days where you have an idea of the outfit you want to wear but you don’t even have that outfit? I’m sure it has, or at least the thought of “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR” has gone through your mind.

The other day for some odd reason I was determined to wear knee high socks with my knee high leather boots, but there was a problem…I only have black and white striped knee highs. There was no way I could wear the pair I own, whats the fun in that? I envisioned a wine color and I wasn’t going to settle for anything less.

Next thing I know I’m digging through my closet and find an old wine colored sweater…I grabbed my scissors and cut at the seam, then slipped them on and voila, I made the outfit happen.

And now you can too!

Materials:

Old Sweater

Scissors

To make your own make shift thigh high socks, use an old sweater or buy one at your local Goodwill.

Next take your scissors and cut off the sleeves

And now all you have to do is put them on!

They slide on like leg warmers and depending on comfort you can use either side as the top. I suggest tucking them into your socks so they stay put.

(I used a sweater with a boxy sleeve so the bottom of the sleeve is over my thigh, this is easier since the edges are nice, but if you use the other side I suggest hemming or folding the edge of the sock for a more clean finish)

Stay Cute and warm this winter!
