Chloe Bacot – Edie Sedgwick, 60’s Mod, Resort

Chloe Bacot I’m thrilled to be chosen as a designer for Goodwill’s 2015 Rock the Runway.  In 2013 I was a stylist for the event, and last year I modeled.  I’m finally ready to take on the role of designer!

The Challenge:  Each designer is given the task of finding items in Goodwill and creating their own up-cycled collection.

My vision:  I want to create a wearable line that is Feminine, Elegant, and Funky.

Inspiration:  Edie Sedgwick, ’60’s Mod, Resort

Colors:  Pinks, Purples, Orange, Yellow, Bone

The next step for me is to actually shop!  I’m currently in NYC, so I’m unable to begin the shopping experience, but here I’m surrounded by fashion and inspiration.  I’m beginning to sketch silhouettes I want to see on the runway and take note of colors that catch my eye.

The best part about vintage shopping is that you can never plan ahead.  It’s exciting to see what fabrics grab your attention.  Who knows, I might fall in love with a dark beaded ’90’s prom dress and have my inspiration do a complete 180!  That’s the beauty of design, it’s constantly changing and an extensive process of trial and error.

XOXO,
