Over the past few months I have learned a lot about myself. It has been such a challenge trying to balance school, work, and designing for the Goodwill fashion show but, I can rightfully say that I did it and no matter what, I am proud of myself.
There were many times when I would be working on garments in the sewing studio at 4 or 5 in the morning and, sometimes all night. Then I would have to attend class at 8 or 10 am the very next day. This was physically exhausting, but I refused to give up because I knew that I had a goal to accomplish. Hard work is definitely something that will always pay off in the end and, I know there will be nothing more gratifying than to see each of my designs go down the runway on February 21st!
Overall, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed being a designer for this year’s show. I would like to thank Laura Schaefer for all of the work that she has put into it as well as organizing everything for the designers. I would also like to thank Goodwill Industries for giving me this opportunity, my family and friends for supporting me through everything, and Rachel Wilson for her encouraging words, humor, and working hard in the studio with me. I hope that you all have a great time at the show!
