One day, as I was looking through my September 2013 issue of Vogue magazine, I came across a picture that caught my attention. The image featured guests that had attended Dolce & Gabbana’s masked ball held in Venice at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta. This ultimately inspired me to do a Venetian Carnival theme for the upcoming fashion show. The Venetian Carnival is basically an annual festival, held in Venice, Italy. The event is most commonly known for its distinctive costumes and elaborate masks.
On my first trip to the Goodwill store I was able to find a variety of items that had unique prints, rich colors, and intricate details. For my first design I will be making a dress out of black velvet, a cream shirt with gold beading, and a gold and black lace dress.
