Brief Bio: My name is Alycia Hill, a nineteen year old Greensboro native. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, competing in pageants and sewing. I first found an interest in sewing when I was seven years old. This passion stuck in my heart and has no intention of leaving anytime soon. My long term goal is to relocated to New York City and eventually start my own clothing label.
Three words that describe me as a designer are: Original, unorthodox and vibrant are three words that describe me as a designer. I love to create garments that aren’t ordinary but enjoyable and display excitement.
What motivates you as a designer? My motivation as a designer comes from my vision about the future. I know that all of my hard work and dedication will pay off one day when I have my own clothing line. That’s my motivation to persevere and keep pushing forward to better myself and my craft.
Who are your favorite designers? My favorite designer is Michael Costello because he creates the garments that I aspire to create in the future. He is also an inspiration because he was an underdog who beat the odds and is designing for numerous celebrities including Beyoncé.
I love Goodwill because… this is a great organization who is diligently working in my community to better the lives of many individuals. Goodwill helps people by providing career opportunities and job training. This is extremely helpful and beneficial in today’s economy.
