Harlem Nights – Design Concepts and Inspiration

As many already know, I chose to draw inspiration from my native New York roots. Harlem located in Manhattan's upper east side, was the birthing place of the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920's. This period in history was marked by an explosion of literature, arts, and self expression in African American culture. Although I wasn't born in the 1920's (laughs), the Harlem community is still very rich in culture, art expression and music.
