In this one you’re going to find out a little about me as a designer. Well to start off you know my name is John Lin and I’m one of the seven fabulous designers for Goodwill Rock the Runway 2014 fashion show. I was born in New York City, yes New York City. You might wonder what in the world am I doing in Greensboro, NC? Well, I moved to Hickory, NC when I was 10 because my parents opened up a business. Behind the Scenes with Designer – Rachel Wilson

My History: It's no secret that I'm a theatre kid through and through. I was practically raised on the stuff! From Disney animated classics to stage plays and ballet- I love it all. Some of my earliest memories are of being in a dark theatre with my mom watching Molly Brown be unsinkable or guys finding their dolls. At an early age I knew I wanted to be an actress. Behind the Scenes with Designer – Ayanna Harrison

This was the picture that originally inspired me from Vogue magazine’s September 2013 issue.  It was taken at Dolce & Gabbana’s masked ball held in Venice.  I love the mix of colors and prints that were incorporated into each garment in the picture. This is a more organized picture of the three garments that I purchased from Goodwill and were used in my first design. My model, Cortney Addison is pictured wearing my first completed garment.  The black and gold dress was used as the foundation, along with the sleeves and [...]

Designer – John Lin

As Coco Chanel says “ In order to be Irreplaceable one must always be Different”. And that is exactly what I’m doing and will always be doing. Indeed she is right, because in this crazy world of fashion the minute you decide to follow, you vanquish. You become the person who they “were” talking about but not the person they “are” talking about. Being different can be scary but exhilarating. From the corner of your eyes you see heads turn, then eyes staring, and finally you start to hear the whispers come out. You always wonder what they are saying. [...]
