Brief Bio

Talk about coming full-circle, I’ve been honing my skills for this event for quite some time!  My love for fashion and design started at a very young age, turning bed sheets into dresses and old clothes into new.  It was that passion for creating and styling my own looks that brought me to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I majored in Apparel Product Design, and then eventually to my current position as Design and Merchandising Manager of Seamless Apparel at Acme-McCrary Corporation.  In my spare time, I also wear the hat of Designer and Owner of Cecile, a vintage and upcycled boutique located within Design Archives Vintage and Handmade Emporium in downtown Greensboro.

Apparel Design has long been my passion, and I’m very thankful to be able to call it my profession, as well as to have been presented with the chance to participate as a designer in this year’s Rock the Runway fashion show!

How would you describe your collection?

My collection, An International Bazaar, was inspired by the beauty of many cultures’ cloth and style of dress, altered and designed to mimic modern trends, all while proving that “old” can be made anew in a way that’s marketable and alluring.

Give us three words that describe you as a designer:

My designs are inspired around these three words:  Whimsical, Dynamic, and Beautiful

I LOVE Goodwill because it offers endless opportunities for individuality through imaginative style, all in a way that’s charitable and sustainable…not to mention, I love finding a treasure!
